Fish ‘n’ chips

My husband and I used to celebrate Valentines Day religiously, back in the day, when we first started dating. Expensive restaurants, red roses, Champaign, you name it! Now, we’re a little over the whole thing and think everyday should be a celebration of our love. So last Tuesday, February 14th, we did what we love to do most of all… Fish and chips on St Kilda beach followed by gelato. Of course I brought my camera along!

It was a beautiful night. We took the roof off and drove into the sunset!

It’s the little things that count. Love Elle x

My best friends wedding

If you follow me on Facebook, you’d know that I attended 2 fabulous weddings last weekend, back to back, one Saturday and one Sunday. Both were absolutely stunning but completely different.

The first wedding was Marinka and Ryan’s, down by the beach on the Mornington Peninsula, in the quaint town of Balnarring, Victoria.

 The ceremonyHere comes the bride

The beautiful bride arrived on a horse! Marinka looked absolutely breathtaking!
Okay, so the sky wasn’t pink… but I thought it should have been!

Home made tomato chutney, preserved lemons and jam for the guests to take home

The PartyThe casually cool reception took place on the deck of Marinka’s parent’s beach front property. Can you believe that view? OMG stunning!

Then the sun began to set…

No Photoshopping here, this is the real deal people!

And then, when you thought it couldn’t get any better, there were FIREWORKS!!!

Then we ate cake, danced ’til our feet hurt and stumbled home to bed. What an amazing wedding!

A Day on Earth

A couple of months ago, Cherry, me and a few friends convoyed up to Daylesford for the day to view The David Bromley Collection Auction. Wow it was fun! So much to see!

The auction and viewing was held at a massive old shed at the back of town

Vintage industrial furniture, original Bromley artworks and pre-loved collectables were all on display

Open shipping crates were set up as room displays

So much to explore!

Bubbles, Butterflies, Babies and Chickens!

My absolute favourite room in my house would have to be our beautiful garden. Cherry and I spend lots of time there planting, picking and smelling flowers, listening to the birdies and just relaxing.

Cherry loves having picnics with friends on the grass

And guess what… We now have chickens!
Meet our new pet ‘Silkies‘. Schnitzel (the black one) and Cookie (the white one).

Katherine, the chicken lady, delivered our new ‘birdies’ yesterday. She gave us a mini ‘how to look after your chooks’ lesson and brought over all the equipment; the pen, the feed, the dispensers and even some sawdust. She breeds Silkies as a hobby with her son and has more chickens needing new homes. If you would like to set up a little coop at your place, give Katherine a call on 0411 510 258. Chickens make great pets for little children, are friendly and very easy to look after. They eat table scraps, fertilize the garden and reward you with freshly laid eggs! What could be better? We love our new fluffy chicks!

E – I – E – I – O

Cherry is growing sooo quickly! She’s already said her first word, “bird!” She loves watching the birdies in our garden, every morning, while we eat breakfast together. “Dog” and “duck” are her latest words and she seems to have a real fascination with animals. While on holidays, we thought it would be nice to take her to meet some new animals at a country farmyard.Peek-a-boo! Are you ready to meet the animals?

Giddy up pony! Let’s go for a ride!

I said hello to the birdies too

We even cuddled with the fluffy bunnies and wriggly guinea pigs
