Best of Cherry and Me

Cherry’s Boudoir

Welcome to Cherry’s room! I’ve been collecting bits and pieces for her bedroom way before I was even pregnant. A lot of her toys and books are from when I was a little girl. The other things are gifts and goodies I’ve collected from opp shops and craft markets.

The little chairs, soft toys and rocking doll are from my childhood bedroom. The rocking horse is from Cherry’s daddy’s childhood! You can still see the “balls & poo” graffiti scribbled on the horse’s back in silver texta. Hilarious! I bought the Freckle Rug from Miriam Bereson and the mushroom sculpture from a stall at Mathilda’s Market just a few months ago.

I bought this gorgeous “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” lampshade from Finders Keepers Market when Cherry was in my belly!

I remember mum taking me to Chapel Street Bazaar when I was about 6 years old and choosing these vintage Mini & Mickey Mouse money boxes.

I’m so glad I kept my absolute favorite doll from childhood! Her glitter gel hair-do still looks fabulous after all these years! I also love my Nana Nina’s vintage musical Barbie Ballerina. The Chanel ribbon is a new accessory. Lol!

I don’t know about you, but if I was a little girl again, this would be my dream bedroom!

Cherry’s 1st Birthday

Yesterday we celebrated Cherry’s 1st birthday with a picnic in the St Kilda Botanical Garderns, the same park where her daddy and I got married 4 years ago. We couldn’t have wished for a more perfect day!

We setup our picnic table under a beautiful old cork tree and hung giant mexican paper flowers from the branches for a pop of colour.

Picnic savory treats by Egg Unlimited. What we ate: Mini smoked salmon, poppy seed bagels; mini poached chicken sandwiches; rice paper rolls with green apple, peanuts and coriander;  omelette soufflé and mini caramelised onion, brie and thyme tarts. So sweet! So cute!

Miniature polkadot cupcakes by Mister Nice Guy.
It was love at first bite when I first sampled Mister Nice Guy’s ”Cherry Pie” cupcakes a few weeks ago at Prahran Market. I knew they’d be the perfect party treat for Cherry’s 1st birthday! What we ate: Cherry Pie, Cherry Bomb, Gingerbread and Sour Puss cupcakes. PS, they’re vegan, kosher and gluten free!

Sexy soda pops from our favourite Caulfield Park cafe, Uffizi. As deviant as they look, they’re non-alcoholic. Love those bottles!

Happy Cherry with her Papa and Moo Moo!

I can’t believe it’s been one year since our little miss Cherry was born. Now the word “birth-day”  has a totally different meaning! So looking forward to birthday number 2!

Black Leather, Leopard-skin, Vodka!

Mum and I absolutely LOVE organising crazy parties! We always create eccentric environments and go all out on décor, food, flowers, costumes, lighting and music! This year mum and I planned her 55th birthday party at her home. The theme was ‘Black leather, Leopard-skin, Vodka’! Mum hung her most recent artworks and filled the rooms with all her leopard-skin collectables and black leather objects.

We served “Zakuski”, tradition Russian appetisers. The perfect match with Vodka!
