It’s not often that Cherry and Me have the entire day to ourselves. Since she’s graduated from senior kinder, we’ve been making the most of our time together before we all head up to our holiday house for the Summer holidays.
This week, we’ve splashed in the Children’s Gardens at The Royal Botanic Gardens, dropped into our favourite cafe’s and local shops, caught up with friends and, best of all, explored the latest exhibitions at The National Gallery of Victoria.
We stated at the front, (as you always do!), at the best bit, the raining windows!
Then we “oohed” and “ahhed” at the giant bicycle installation by Ai Weiwei
Then it was time to see some art up close at the official exhibtion
Cherry and Liz
By far, Cherry’s favourite experience was the floating balloon installation
I loved the flower wall
The lego cube. It made a click-a-di-clack sound as you walked over the tiny bricks
Cherry “giving the finger” to Ai Weiwie’s photographs
Then we dropped in to The Children’s Exhibition Space, where Cherry met up with her best friend, Flora!
The exhibit was all about Ai WeiWei’s love for his cat! He looks a lot like our cat, Mienkki. Take a look here!

Stack a Warhol Brillo Box!
And let’s take a selfie too
We even made a “Selfie Movie” Take a look here
Time for a rest in the Great Hall and marvel at the rainbow glass ceiling
Can you believe Cherry is starting school next year! I started this blog when she was in my belly and it blows me away thinking 5 years has already flown by.
